Sully vs SafetyCulture (Mitti): which is best?

Sully is the SafetyCulture alternative for firms that visit sites they don’t run and owe a client the write-up: it reads the walkthrough video and what you said, instead of filling a form.

What is Sully?

Sully is the AI scribe for site walks. Walk the site as you always do, shooting video or photos and talking as you go. Sully reads the footage with what you said and hands back a summary with action items, every line cited to its frame.

You turn the draft into the report, schedule or quote, and you sign it. It lands in Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, Gmail or Google Drive. Made by Hey Sully in Australia; in early access now.

What is SafetyCulture (Mitti)?

SafetyCulture, renamed Mitti in August 2026, is the operations platform that grew out of iAuditor: checklists, inspections, issues, training and sensors for teams running their own sites, with an AI Assistant on every plan.

  1. 1SafetyCulture: Annual billing; US$29 monthly. Australian customers are billed in AUD at a rate the page doesn’t publish. AI is credit-metered on every plan.
  2. 2SafetyCulture: Videos attach as evidence, capped at 3 minutes or 1.5 GB; iOS trims longer clips.
  3. 3SafetyCulture: A voice note per issue, not a walk.
  4. 4SafetyCulture: Their help centre, under “Limitations”: “AI generates details from photos, voice recordings, and text descriptions. You can still upload videos as evidence, but the AI won’t analyze them.”
  5. 5SafetyCulture: The AI Assistant generates documents from a prompt, but they “only exist within the current conversation.” Inspections are template-driven.
  6. 6Sully: Team plans and up draft them straight from the record.
  7. 7SafetyCulture: Prompt-generated documents “can only be downloaded to your device”, not saved to Mitti, SharePoint or Google Drive.
  8. 8Sully: Any walk or project on Solo; the whole workspace on Team and up.
  9. 9SafetyCulture: The AI Assistant answers over your organisation’s data.
  10. 10Sully: Firm plans.
  11. 11Sully: Drafted lines stay marked until a person verifies them.
  12. 12SafetyCulture: Nothing marks AI-generated lines against verified ones.
  13. 13SafetyCulture: Their AI page: contracts with sub-processors “explicitly prohibit the use of customer data to train their models.”

Sully vs SafetyCulture (Mitti): which is right for you?

Sully is built for people who visit sites they don’t own (surveyors, architects, fire-safety practitioners, inspectors, trades) and owe a client a write-up afterwards.

Mitti is built for organisations that run their own sites: checklists, incidents, training, sensors and, now, insurance.

Choose Mitti if your write-up is an inspection form and you want one operations system for everything on your sites.

Choose Sully if your evidence is a narrated walk of someone else’s site, the deliverable is a report or quote in your firm’s shape, and you want the draft in Teams or Outlook rather than inside a platform.

FAQs

Is Sully a SafetyCulture alternative?

For the write-up, yes. Not for the rest of the platform: checklists, incidents, training, sensors, insurance. If that is the job, Mitti is the better fit.

Can SafetyCulture (Mitti) analyse a walkthrough video?

Not by its own documentation: uploaded videos are kept as evidence “but the AI won’t analyze them.” We re-check that page and will update this one if it changes.

Is Mitti the same product as SafetyCulture?

Yes. SafetyCulture rebranded to Mitti on 11 August 2026, “a new name for the same platform” per its launch site.
